Schedule builder overall doesn't look horrible, but I think using some nicer colors and designing it to be more visually appealing like our canvas upgrade would be nice.Īlso, an email notification for our pass times would be bomb lol. What kind of identity does an ever-incomplete to-do list reinforce? Though there haven’t been direct studies, one can infer from existing research that it isn’t a positive one. It would also allow us to visually balance out schedules, but this is not really a main concern lol. It would also be cool if you guys made icons for the majors or categories so that our calendars would look cute and would be easier use. So a list of classes that fit the gap in your schedule would appear and make it easier to find one that works. Searching for classes could also be improved by having a "popular" GEs section, as well as recommended classes based on the current schedule that you already have. So we don't have to drop something, then refresh, and add the next class. You know how there's a register all changes button? Well could we please be able to choose what all of our changes are before having to click that button? So when it's not pass time and you're waiting on it, you can select all the options and what you want to do with every specific class then just click register all changes and they all go in at once.

The mobile website is a pain in the ass, the windows disappear all the time before you can click them and the calendar doesn't work. Give us a live time view of what it does to our schedule or mark out which ones would work with the current selection if swapped out. You know how choosing/switching sections of a class is pain in the ass? Please fix it! On the names of the sections, include the dates/times/locations so that you know what option you're clicking. I really hate the calendar view on there, I wish it looked something more like the sis web one where the times and places were visible so when I'm making my schedules I can see where the classes are as well. Ofc all submissions to remain anonymous.Īnd adding in when that class is usually taught in a separate search of ALL classes. So that when we're looking through the classes, we know how others rate the course and professor directly. Okay, so one of the things I'd love is a rating system for the courses we take with the professor to be visible. There have been extensions created for this I'd imagine it would be an easier feature to implement. Indicating this would prevent students from needing to check schedulebuilder for minor changes (such as location).Īn easy way to export to external calendars (iCal, google calendar, etc). Room changes are common, but from the initial email, we don't know if the change is to the time, the prof, the room, etc. Allowing them to register then removing them at a later deadline would be less frustrating for the students. Some holds are out of the students' control, such as having a verified degree. Having a better way to work around holds would be nice. Syncing with oasis and 3-quarter plans would be nice. I'm not sure what you can do about this since it seems to be on their end, but maybe a good solution would be to have a tool for them to more easily sync up? There are often discrepancies between projected courses listed by the department and what actually shows up on ScheduleBuilder.
I had to ask the CS department to resort to other measures to get me in. If I use a PTA to waitlist for an overlapping class, I then get blocked from getting off the waitlist since the time is overlapping, rendering my PTA useless. It can be difficult knowing who to go to in order to resolve error messages - the professor, the college (L&S for instance), the department (CS for instance), or the registrar. For instance, if I am registered in class A but want class B, but I only want to drop A if I can get into B.Įrror messages are vague and difficult to understand. This is even worse when I need to waitlist for one or the other of the classes, but can't. Simultaneous/overlapping classes, or not being able to register for these. Other features/lack thereof I've been extremely frustrated with: Maybe finding typical drop rates for a class, which would help with deciding if I want to waitlist for a class. In making my own opinion of the professor, it would be great if I could see past grade data of the professor (similar to gradfire), maybe public webpages for it (maybe the past piazza pages, canvas sites, the prof's pages on the class, past syllabuses, the prof's other classes, number of tests, grade breakdowns, grade distributions, number of previous students in the class on average, median/mean/std dev, etc). There is a better professor (reviews mentioned in other comments already) available in the same quarter, or in a future quarter. When making my schedule, I want to know if
